Abstract

Cloth books are means to allow the collective construction of life histories. In this project,
executed in two traditional communities of “faxinais” in the state of Paraná, Brazil, workshops
were conducted with groups made up mainly by women, which resulted in the making of three
thematically diverse books, born out of local demands. The books expressed agroecological
practices and knowledges, as well as “faxinalense” life histories in rural/urbal contexts, and
may serve as important educational instruments for rural schools.
