Abstract

This text is an instrument through which we discuss the potential of Agroecological Agroforestry Systems (AFS) for the process of sustainable development. The methodological procedures are based on participatory methodology, with the experience of implementing an AFS for saffron production, together with a small family farmer in the municipality of Sidrolândia, MS. Although it is an experience still under development, we can affirm that the study and practice of agroforestry contributes to the recovery of the sense of belonging of the producing families to the land, thus assisting a development process that values the increase of freedoms and life processes.
