Agroforestry in mixed crop-livestock farming

Abstract

One of the objectives of the AER Carhue, within the framework of the Agroecology Network
(REDAE), together with the Regional Projects with sub-humid and semi-arid territorial approach
to INTA Bordenave, is to build experimental-demonstrative sites in the EEA Bordenave and
in producers fields, with the purpose of studying the technical feasibility of the Agroforestry
Systems for its inclusion in mixed systems of the area of influence of the experimental. The
experience consisted in including within areas of agricultural-livestock aptitude the planting of
lines of deciduous trees with spacings dedicated to agriculture / livestock in rotation. The experience
is considered initiated with three agroforestry sites in the area and the region, two in the
area of the EEA Bordenave and one in a field of a producer. They are established as reference
sites for participatory analysis, projection and research in this type of systems.
