Abstract

Baixada Cuiabana, in Mato Grosso, is a region rich in biodiversity and culture, yet it faces challenges in family farming, such as soil degradation and monoculture pressures. The "Saberes da Terra" project by UFMT aims to strengthen agroecology through the implementation of sustainable productive systems, training, and the promotion of healthy territories. A key initiative was the Knowledge Exchange, held at CECAPE, bringing together farmers, technicians, and professors to share insights. The event, featuring technical visits and workshops, promoted sustainable practices, valued traditional knowledge, and encouraged participatory planning of productive systems. Outcomes include increased awareness, strengthened support networks, and steps for implementing agroecological practices in communities.
