Abstract

The planet faces serious environmental challenges, such as pollution and the increasing production of waste, whose negative impacts affect wildlife, flora, and natural resources. In this context, promoting sustainable practices such as recycling and selective waste collection becomes essential for environmental conservation. Environmental Education, through educational tools such as games, proves to be an effective strategy for raising awareness about the proper disposal of waste. The game "The Colors of Recycling," for example, aims to encourage the correct disposal of materials and promote behavioral changes related to solid waste management, while also reinforcing the importance of recycling for environmental preservation. Moreover, these practices can be linked to agroecology, an approach that advocates for sustainable agriculture integrated with ecosystem conservation, where waste reuse, such as composting, helps reduce environmental impact and promotes more balanced and ecologically responsible food systems. Thus, the game and awareness of recycling also align with agroecological principles, reinforcing the idea that waste management is a crucial component of a sustainable cycle that aims to preserve and care for the planet.
