Abstract

The aim of the project is to provide people with disabilities with an opportunity to escape from their daily routine and express their feelings and emotions through the tasks proposed. Activities related to plant cultivation, contact with the soil and ecological walks have particularly important effects for people with physical, mental and intellectual limitations, boosting their independence, manual skills and quality of life. The aim is to provide those assisted by APAE (Conquista-MG) with practical/theoretical knowledge of different agro-ecological and sustainable actions. The project includes weekly activities with the APAE group, such as learning workshops on the proposed theme, practical lessons in the field and outdoor activities to encourage and motivate students towards environmental education. The aim of this project was to achieve results in terms of socialization between the students and society as a whole. Despite the difficulties in teaching people with disabilities, the participants delved deeper into practical and theoretical activities, learning about growing vegetable gardens and preserving the environment. The actions developed to develop practical skills promoted awareness of sustainability.
