Abstract

This work aimed to verify the financial viability of an agroforestry system at the Água Limpa
farm of the University of Brasília, as well as to analyze its structure of costs and revenues. The
following indicators were used: net present value, periodic equivalent benefit, internal rate of
return and time of capital return, calculated at an interest rate of 0.2% per month. The study
demonstrated that the agroforestry system presented positive values, being thus a viable option
financially, being able to be used as an alternative of production for the familiar agriculture.
Highest costs refer to expenses with inputs and labor force and higher revenues from the sale
of vegetables, which represented 88% of all gains, representing a risk situation for the system
according to the conditions presented. The net present value was R$ 52,943.23, the internal
rate of return 9.03% and the periodic benefit equivalent to R$ 2,703.10.
