Reports and announcements of agroecological initiatives at the University Journey in Defense of Agrarian Reform (Cáceres, Mato Grosso)

Abstract

The report seeks to present the contributions of the Round of Conversation and Mapping of Agroecological Initiatives within the scope of the collective construction of the II State Week of Agroecology of Mato Grosso and the holding of the II University Journey in Defense of Agrarian Reform, held at the State University of Mato Grosso during the month of August in, Caceres, Mato Grosso. The objective of the activity was the territorialized and collective collection of notes on the existence of agroecological initiatives (associations, cooperatives, NGOs, projects, etc.) and their respective challenges and opportunities. In addition, we also seek to share the accumulations of state discussions - held during the National Agroecology Articulation (ANA) campaign “Public Agroecology Policies in Boca do Povo” - on the construction of the III National Plan for Agroecology and Organic Production (PLANAPO) and about the need to update/qualify the State Agroecology Policy (PEAPO).  More than 10 organizations were present at the activity, denouncing the effects of the developmental and predatory agribusiness model in the State and announcing the resistance of traditional communities and the population as a whole, from the collective construction of alternatives based on agroecology and ancestral knowledge.
