Abstract

The reserach analyzed how the PLANAPO 2024-2027 and the proposals from the National Articulation of Agroecology (ANA) – resulting from the "Public Policies of Agroecology at the People's Mouth" campaign – address climate change. Seven main categories were identified: Water Security, Agroecology as Mitigation and Adaptation, Crisis as Context, Public Policies, Knowledge Building, Commodification of Nature, and Climate Justice. Agroecology is highlighted as a strategy for adaptation and mitigation, especially in water security and strengthening agroecosystem resilience. In conclusion, it was observed that public policies promoting agroecology are essential to tackle climate challenges and ensure food sovereignty in the state of Mato Grosso.
