Abstract

In the history of agriculture, the constant search for innovative practices has resulted in the
exploitation of natural resources, the main characteristic of agribusiness. In contrast to these
practices we have agroforestry systems (SAFs). The objective of this study was to analyze
SAFs assisted by the FlorestAção Project in the Territory of Cidadania Vales of Curu and
Aracatiaçu – Ceará based on agronomic / ecological and soil indicators, from the level of
agroecological transition of four families. In each of these, four visits were carried out, guided
by participative methodologies. For the two indicators, the time of agroecological transition
was preponderant, since the families with greater transition time obtained better grades. The
results show that, according to the indicators, the SAF is the way forward for the families of the
northeastern semi-arid region, reducing the impacts to the environment and producing food,
allowing justice and social inclusion.
