Understanding the rural associations in the town of Rio Pomba/MG

Abstract

Was accomplished in 2016 courses about associations in four rural communities in Rio Pomba
- Zona da Mata of Minas Gerais, supported by 3 extension projects of IFSUDESTEMG-RP.
The main goal was the importance of the associations as a social economic strategy to the
consolidate rural communities. The use of a set of participatory approaches identified strengths
and weaknesses of the associations and scenarious that pointed to solutions of conflicts,
fortification of relations with extension, teaching and research institutions in the development of
guidelines that attend demands of family farmers in the agroecological transition.
