Abstract

The várzea agroecosystems of the São Francisco community, located on the Coast of Terra
Nova, in the municipality of Careiro da Várzea / AM, are managed by family farmers. Data
were obtained through field research conducted in 2014 and 2015 with application of forms
with family units and participatory diagnosis. The importance of these agroecosystems to the
community was verified. The objectives of this work were to verify the availability of products
produced in a sustainable manner, with food and nutritional security, guaranteeing healthier
products, with greater market value and providing an integrative relationship between the human
being and the environment, adding sustainability and renewal of Natural resources available
in the locality.
