Abstract

Creole hens have been an important part of the history of agricultural development in the
world, being one of the first species domesticated by humans. Creole hens, managed under
traditional systems, have been an essential part of the economy, security and food autonomy
of rural families. However, there are few researches that allow to know this type of hens, to
enhance their use and to recognize it as a specie with great potential to design agroecological
production systems. As a result of this work, we could characterize the production systems,
to rescue technical knowledge about its manage and to promote the network of communities
working with this issue.
