Abstract

Faced with the emergence of producing food sustainably, agro ecological principles prove to
be the viable alternative to ensure sustainability in all aspects. One of the production systems
with agroecological approach is organic, which was the object of this experience report that
accompanied a couple of farmers in the transition process in the Victorian Village (Lima Vitoriana),
Lima Duarte- MG. With a qualitative approach, data were collected at extensionist
action visits over a period of two and half years, and analyzed in the light of the theories of
ALTIERE (2004) and GLIESSMAN (2008). The results elucidated positive points such as family
well-being and difficulties such as the difficulty of access to necessary inputs and the need for
training and technical assistance. The final considerations bring the progress of work on the
site and reflection proposition on the practice of joint extension, ONG’s and public as a way to
strengthen the agro-ecological transition.
