This paper analyzes the contribution of two training courses, developed and taught by NEA-
-UFSM in the construction of Agroecological knowledge. The courses were offered to rural
and academic extension agents, promoting the discussion of Participatory Methodologies and
their possibilities in agroecosystems in agroecological transition. The dialogic approach for the
courses was also considered, one focusing on a specific MESMIS methodology, taught from
the digital tools, and the second, approaching several methodologies, given in an auditorium in
person. We then accept that participatory methodologies are essential for research in Agroecology,
even more, if we consider the bias of a sustainable perspective.
