Contribuições para o desenvolvimento de tecnologias visando a produção de cultivares crioulas de milho em sistemas de produção de base ecológica

Abstract

The production of landrace corn cultivars in ecological system requires changes of management,
in order to make it more efficient and sustainable for the environment. The construction
of this knowledge necessarily passes by the socialization of knowledge and the implementation
of new studies, and the insertion of the UFSM with the community consolidates university
extension actions with education and participatory research techniques. In this context, the
objective was to improve the technical and productive efficiency of corn landrace cultivars ecological
production system with cover crops, and also raise awareness of the farmers adopt soil
conservation practices. The work developed there is concomitant practice of UFSM extension
at its core, since the research is built collectively, since its genesis. The students involved may
experience concrete actions and develop the extensionists pratice, as farmers are encouraged
to think while researchers.
