Abstract

The objective of this study was to describe the use of the problem tree as a tool to problematize
the participatory planning in rural development project. The methodological strategy was
the participative research with the adoption of the methodology of social innovation, to identify
problems and their prioritization with visualization techniques. The problem tree was applied in
understanding the causes and effects of the lack of autonomy of housing for livestock production.
Data were qualitative and analyzed by content analysis.
