Study of solid waste disposal in small Dairy farms of the Southern Region, RS

Abstract

Solid wastes are considered to be materials that result from human activities and can often be
harnessed for both recycling and reuse. The objective of this research was to study and identify
solid waste management in small dairy farms in the municipality of Pelotas and Capão do
Leão - RS, linked to the Dairy Cattle Development Project in the southern region of Rio Grande
do Sul. Of questionnaires with open and closed questions, and a semi-structured interview,
through which four families of milk producers were studied, which answered questions related
to the management of domestic solid waste disposal and milk ownership. It was possible to
observe that the great majority of people already have an opinion about solid waste, whether
it is the importance of preserving nature as a benefit of sustainable agriculture or healthy food.
