The space fair as a strategy to strengthen organic production in Santarém-Pará

This research aims to discuss the fair’s importance like a mediator of the organic production in
Santarém-Pará. The research was organized trough a semi structured seminar with 30 family
farmers, who live on the urban area or the countryside and provide to the Municipal Market of
Santarém (A.K.A. Mercadão 2000) with their products. The following results show that the fair
has enriched the commerce of organic products, which has been highlighted by the increase
of healthy food’s consumption by a portion of the customers, which foments the agroecological
transition processes.
