Abstract

The objective of this work is to report the experience of the students participating in the ornamental
cactus project in an educational workshop that was given at the second Extension,
Research and Innovation Meeting in Agroecology (2° EEPIEA). It was offered by the volunteers
of the project, who dynamically took to the students and farmers present the importance
of preserving the historical and millenarian tradition of a needy community that works with the
making of handmade crockery made with clay, in order to provide Products.As well as demonstrating
the ecological and economic importance of the caatinga species, especially cactaceae,
including those that have landscape potential and can be used for ornamentation purposes.
The workshop was given on the penultimate day of the event and had maximum time of two
and a half hours, enough to mark the expressive success of each student through the knowledge
acquired. At the end of the presentation, they were presented with the objects produced
by each one during the workshop.
