Abstract

The present work shows a new look about alternatives of family farmers commercialization in
Sao Jose da Boa Morte settlement in Cachoeiras de Macacu (RJ). It’s a reflexion of opportunities
and difficulties in the construction of a commercialization channel, where the principal
premises are the incentive to the agroecology transition process and to the solidary economy,
supported in short circuits of commercialization. The main results shows that the agroecology
transition can be stimulated when the production flow is accomplished by means of a closer
relation with the consumer, for example, through solidary economy networks instead of informal
contracts with local middlemans. This work shows the integration importance of many agroecologic
production scales, being important to highlight the necessity of training programs, mainly
those aimed at the individual and collective organization of farmers, to fill the market demands.
