Biomineralization technology an experience of the Small Farmers’ Movement

Abstract

Based on the biomineralization technology and the search for the strengthening of agroecological
peasant based production systems, the Small Farmers’ Movement (MPA) has been seeking
to organize alternatives for the production of biomineral inputs through biofactory production
in related cooperatives, such as The Joint Cooperative of Industrialization and Commercialization
of Biofuels of Brazil (COOPERBIO), Located in the region of Middle High Uruguay in Rio
Grande do Sul. Through the Peasant Program, a public policy for the strengthening of peasant
production, of the state government approved in 2013, more than 5,000 families of small-scale
farmers were distributed to biomineral inputs (composed of rocks, biofertilizers), making it possible
to strengthen a new productive matrix and many technical production experiences.
