Possible misconceptions in the conduct of rural extension in agroecology: some theoretical notes for a production of knowledge

Abstract

Despite the advance of the agroecological movement in recent years in Brazil, the need for a
production of experiences that discuss as peculiarities of rural extension in this context. Thus,
the present theoretical essay, based on the understanding of the principles that underpin an
agroecology, proposes to deconstruct a light of historically naturalized issues, some central
points of activities observed in rural extension projects, which merit reflection and questioning.
As contributions to consolidation of agroecological knowledge, the five central themes of the
intervention must be qualified for a proper re-signification.
