Non-timber forest products most marketed in the village of Alter do Chão, Santarém, Pará

The objective of this work was to identify the most commercialized forest products non-wood
in the village of Alter do Chão, in the Santarém county, Pará state, looking for it valorization as
a cultural process and source of income. This way agroecological practices sreastrengthening
as means of Conservation of forests. Data were collected through out the application containing
30 questionnaires combining qualitative and quantitative information. were identified 13
plant species most notably, stand out andiroba and copaiba, the category of ornamentation
that generates more revenue for the merchant, however, the food category is the one with
the largest number of merchants. The commercialization of non-wood products represents a
possibility of employment and income for the local population of Alter do Chão. But, there is a
need for a government policy to improve this productive chain.
