Agroecological production and improvement of the quality of life of rural youth

Abstract

This paper reports on the experiences of the scholars of the State University of Maranhão,
in the project agroecological production and improvement of the quality of life of rural youth,
idealized by Professor Ariadne, Department of Phytotechnology and Phytosanitary and Extension
Laboratory - CCA, developed in the Povoado Alegre , In the Casa Familar Rural de
Primeira Cruz - MA, as part of the UEMA Extended Program, developed in the municipalities
with the lowest HDI in the state of Maranhão. The following objectives were outlined: to favor
the teaching-learning process in the area of agrarian sciences, involving the participation of
young people from the rural zone, to provide the appropriation and exchange of knowledge;
Stimulate agroecological production, income generation and local development through the
dissemination of practices and knowledge; And plan and deploy demonstration units at school.
In this way, the importance of school through community school interaction was demonstrated.
