It was sought to know the interrelationship between Agroecology and Environmental Sanitation.
This is a qualitative-quantitative, explanatory approach, carried out in stages: a) integrative
literature review (period 2006-2016), gathering works on the theme; B) Application of questionnaire,
photo-documentation and direct observation in agroecological community, in São
Domingos do Capim (PA), from November / 2015 to March / 2016. The results demonstrated
the contributions of Agroecology for Environmental Sanitation in the management of water resources,
protection of riparian forests, natural irrigation through aninga (Montrichardia linifera)
and heliconia (Heliconia farinosa), soil conservation and protection, and Environmental Sanitation
contributing For the sustainability of agroecological practices, when, in a more effective
way, it reduces the occurrence of diseases by water transmission, promoting improvement of
the quality of life of the peasant family.
