Abstract

The present report it is experiences experienced during deployment and conduct of an experimental
area in Agroforestry (SAF) on the campus of Monte Carmelo, the Federal University of
Uberlandia. The implementation and maintenance of this area took place from the core work of
Agroecological Cerrado Mineiro-NACEM. The first interventions occurred in September 2015.
The implementation of the SAF began with the cultivation of annuals and coverage, which was
in its infancy because of the difficulties of conducting an experimental area in a campus with infrastructure
short of favorable conditions. However, interventions in rainy season of 2016/2017
allowed the system to move forward, especially with the insertion of tree species. Currently the
SAF area stands out in the landscape of campus and have fulfilling your role of experimental
area, creating opportunities for family farmers, students and teachers, joint learning and perpetuating
the precepts of Agroecology.
