Recycling allows some materials to be reprocessed, which contributes to reducing the volume
of waste, conserves natural resources, saves energy, reduces air, water and soil pollution. The
objective of this work was to reuse edible vegetable oil after frying or other food activities without
proper destination, to produce soap using essential oil of the species P. callosum extracted by
steam drag and analysis of chemical components through CG / MS (Gas Chromatography coupled
to Mass Spectrometry). Evaluating soap produced for emulsifying, foaming and detergent
power and free alkalinity. The chemical components trans-isocroweacina, cis-isocroweacina
and cis asarona were found in the essential oil, these being related to the antimicrobial action. The results showed a soap of excellent chemical quality for the standards evaluated under
current legislation, so it is possible to conclude that the production of soaps from the fatty acid
ester recycled with Piper callosum essence is a sustainable and viable activity, consequently
a Contribution to the environment. The species P. callosum becomes a strong alternative for
future research, industrial processes, allelopathic action and others.
