Abstract

This work aims to present an experience of family production with integration between crop
and livestock. This experience is being realized in the Sítio Jaçanã property, located in the
community of Sítio Novo, municipality of Bacabal - MA. The creation of a system called the
“Curral Rotativo” by the family provides the use of the animal waste in the crop, enabling a
healthier and higher yielding planting. Thus, the cattle sector of the property take over a differentiated
and at the same time natural function, thought by the human being as a strategy
of sustainability for the crop production. In this way, it builds an interaction between farming
sectors of directly and indirectly forms, because when producing food for humans and animals,
it makes work the organization of the farm, pointing to a more sustainable development based
on agroecology.
