The main pest of corn is the caterpillar Spodoptera frugiperda. Manipueira, a liquid coming
from the pressing of cassava, has the potential to control armyworm. The aim of this study
was to evaluate the armyworm control through the application of this liquid, Manipueira. The
experiment was conducted in the area of Irrigation and Drainage at Baiano Federal Institute
of Science and Technology in campus Senhor do Bonfim-BA, in the period from November
2015 to February 2016. The experimental design was randomized blocks, with six treatments
(T1 – witness; T2 - water application (0% of cassava Manipueira); T3- application with 25%
cassava Manipueira; T4 - application with 50% cassava Manipueira; T5 - with application 75%
of cassava Manipueira; T6 - application with 100% cassava Manipueira) and five replications,
totaling 30 experimental plots of 3m x 3.20m, a total area of 288 m². The variables analyzed
were: damage to the peels, damage to the leaves and productivity. The results showed that the
best treatment for armyworm control was application with 25% cassava Manipueira.
