Abstract

In October 2016, students and professors from the Federal Rural University of the Amazon
Paragominas campus conducted a practical lesson to two properties in a rural agroextractivist
settlement in the municipality of Paragominas - PA. With the objectives of approaching the
theory of practice, and providing experience to the students of the Forest Engineering course,
demystifying thoughts about the rural worker in settlements. The main results were the visualization
of the efficiency in the distribution of the quality food products for the school lunch of
the municipality through the PNAE program, as well as the commercialization of the products
for the population in general. The family production aiming primarily at subsistence. Concern
about the environment in the way it is produced. And also the importance of the role of women
in family production. And the escape of young people to the city due to loss of interest in the
succession of family production.
