Abstract

The settlement Benedito Alves Bandeira is located in the municipality of acará, Northeast Pará.
The experience had as main objective to observe the interaction of biophysical environment
farmers, expand the critical against the social reality that they live the family farmers, particulary
those of rural settlements. The observations were made based on what was experienced
during the ten days of immersion in the life of a couple of farmers living in the settlement for
more than two decades. Experience that was important to understand that the family lives with
the conditions of the biophysical environment in the best possible way, creating strategies to
overcome adversity, to understand that family farming characteristics change according to the
regions, with the needs and the culture and that every farmer live differently with the soil.
