Abstract

Education has been undergoing changes in several areas in Brazil. At the same time as the
capitalist system exploits “bancária” education, forming people that are increasingly alienated
to the market, agroecology arises with the proposal of using participative methodologies in the
construction and socialization of knowledge. The proposal of the methodology the “A árvore
dos sonhos” creates a welcoming and familiar pedagogical environment so that the interaction
of the people present there is more strengthened with their conceptions of the world. This methodology
was applied to young people from different regions of the brejos paraibanos and was
part of the opening of the training course on agroecological practices “As Cores do Solo”. The
central idea was to create a pedagogical environment of freedom, where these young people
could express their different expectations in face of the challenges that exist for the peasant
youth. This making young people feel part of the process, thus contextualizing and strengthening
the struggle for a more humane and agroecological society.
