Challenges of agroecological practices in the context of community gardening in the municipality of Sete Lagoas - MG

Abstract

The community vegetables gardens of the county of Sete Lagoas have been institutionalized
for over 30 years and act as income generation for families and local supply of food produced
with agroecological methods. In this sense the present empirical work, based on the participatory
research method, had as objective to analyze how the social relations between the producers
of the community garden Vapabuçu of Sete Lagoas and support organs of the municipal
public sphere. In that results of the research indicate that the construction of the agroecological
knowledge has advanced much in the technical dimension of the agronomic production, but
the social relations between the producers still show contradictions inherent to the agroecological
assumptions.
