Training of producers and implementation of organic farming areas in the northwest of Minas Gerais

The Cooperative of Family Agriculture based on Solidarity Economy - COPABASE, is located
in the city of Arinos-MG, belonging to the Rio Urucuia Valley. Firstly, an initial diagnosis was
carried out to verify the current situation of communities and families, based on information
available at Copabase, through dialogue with leaders and community members, and through
the application of 2 questionnaires, one in the field of Community and another individual, applied
to each participating family. Selection criteria as the priority for working with young people and
women were traced to the better development of the project. The data collected prove positive
results of Copabase’s activities that contribute to the processing and commercialization of the
production, it was also verified the existence of associates that with support of the cooperative
set up areas of irrigated fruit production, beekeeping and value added to the product.
