Interdisciplinarity in postgraduate studies: reflections from the master’s degree course in rural development and management of agri-food enterprises of IFPA Campus Castanhal

This work aims to reflect on the pedagogical approach of the methodology used in the course
“Foundations in Amazonian agroecosystems” of the professional master ‘s course in rural
development and management of agrifood enterprises of the Federal Institute of Pará - Campus
Castanhal. The mentioned masters course is of interdisciplinary character and develops
studies and research in different areas of knowledge, including the subarea of education and
agroecology. From this study, it was possible to observe that the interdisciplinary methodology
used in the discipline favored the deconstruction of historically consolidated thoughts and promoted
the reconstruction of a more complex knowledge, based on the cooperation between
the different fields of knowledge.
