The “Caatingar” Agroecological Observatory comes from the socio-academic work of the Research
Group GENTTES/UNEB/DCHT/Campus XVI/Irecê; It aims to “contribute to the strengthening
of Solidary Networks of Agroecological Base, with emphasis on those of action in the
Brazilian Semi-arid, guided by the transversal categories of Socio-educational and productive
Management, Education, Labor and Social and Adapted Technologies, In the field of production,
experimentation and continuing education “. Its members are from UNEB, CETEP / Irecê, Irecê-
-BA City Hall, rural associations and other militants; The initial results include the construction of
a database of good agro-ecological practices; Articulation with COOPCETEP, ICICAA Institute,
Raízes do Sertão Network and CAERDES; Implantation of Production Units, Experimentation
and Agroecological Training, through the “Diamante do Sertão” Project; And, Academic support
for the political-ideological strengthening of Agroecological with UNEB/Campus XVI and CETEP.
