The learn by doing: construction of a roça without fire in a family unit of the paraense Amazon

Abstract

The present work has the objective of reporting the technical experience of the implantation
of a roça without burn, which consists of an agroecological practice of soil management and
conservation, for cultures of seasonal cycles, and counted with a participation of students and
course professor Agricultural Technician at the Federal Institute of Pará - Campus Castanhal.
A learning activity in a family agricultural establishment of an agrarian reform settlement and
to enable the creation of a Unit of Pedagogical Research of Agroecological Experimentation -
Upea, on coordination of the Nucleus of Studies in Education and Agroecology in the Amazon
- NEA. It was fundamental in the process of establishing dialogue and articulation between
the knowledge of educators, learners and farmers involved in this experience, leading to the
construction of agroecological knowledge in the Paraense Amazon.
