Organic fertilization in the production of açaí (Euterpe oleracea and E. precatoria), aiming at the generation of employment and income, in small properties of the state of Rondônia

Abstract

The present work has the objective of describing the actions of the research project that foresees
the use of agricultural residues, through the implantation of Demonstration Units of
Agroforestry Systems, having as main species açaí (Euterpe oleracea and E. precatoria), as
well as essences forestry and/or fruit, with the purpose of producing fruits, aiming at the generation
of employment and income, within the framework of local family agriculture. In this initial
stage four UDs were implemented in the city of Porto Velho, which are located in settlements
or in concentrations of farmers who already practice agroecology, relevant conditions for the
project to benefit the largest possible public. The production of organic compounds should be
accompanied by other farmers in the community, working with a tool for training in agroecological
practices.
