Perception of the students of the Colégio Agrícola Vidal de Negreiros on environment and agroecology

Abstract

When it comes to education, issues related to ecological issues, special attention should be
paid, especially when referring to agricultural education units. Thus, a research was carried
out to diagnose and understand the knowledge of the students of the Colégio Agrícola Vidal
de Negreiros - CAVN, belonging to the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB) - Campus III,
Bananeiras, in relation to environmental and agroecology topics. The survey was carried out in
April 2017, based on a semistructured questionnaire in seven questions, applied to high school
students: Integral and Proeja. The participation of the students was voluntary. Of the 64 interviewees,
the percentages of the answers demonstrated positive knowledge on the part of the
students in relation to the topics addressed. However, it is necessary to carry out pedagogical
activities that stimulate the expansion of subjects related to Environmental Education, enabling
teachers and students to A practical experience on the subject, causing changes in the environment,
social and environmental.
