Brazilian cacao farming is undergoing a process of recovery due to difficulties faced in the production.
Given the demands of the market facing the demands of sustainable development, it
is necessary to generate research and technology so that producers can manage a profitable
business, spending less resources and producing more. In the Amazon region, a diversity of
cacao is used as a source of income by extractivists. The objective of this work was to evaluate
the variability present in the native cacao population of the marsh region of the Purus-AM
medium, based on data obtained with a morphoagronomic characterization. An expedition was
carried out to install plots in four communities, located between the municipalities of Boca do
Acre and Pauiní.The collected data were analyzed for descriptive statistics. The characters
were: shaft height to the first branch; Circumference at breast height (CBH); Diameter at Breast
Height (DBH). It was verified that there is variability in the native cacao trees in the communities
of the medium Purus.
