Formation of seedlings of papaya papaya under different organic substrates in Nova Xavantina-MT
Keywords:
Propagation, Carica papaya, Organic substratesAbstract
For seedlings production, the quality of the substrate is of paramount importance, as well as
providing support for the plants, it also provides root growth and provides adequate amounts of
air, water and nutrients for the development of seedlings. The experimental design used was in
DBC, in factorial scheme 4 blocks X 3 proportions substrates X 3 organic sources. This work
had as objective to evaluate different substrates in the production of papaya seedlings in New
Xavantina - Mt. Data were submitted to analysis of variance by software Sisvar 5.6 (Ferreira,
2000) and the averages were compared by the Tukey test at 5% probability. The substrate
containing soil + sand + humus provided the highest plant height and number of leaves of
papaya papaya seedlings, followed by the substrate containing soil + sand + chicken manure.
The substrate containing soil + sand + bovine manure, was the one that provided less height
and number of leaves.
