The work was carried out at the Zé Ribeiro farm, located in the municipality of Nova Timboteua,
which belongs to the state of Pará. The objective of this work is to characterize a dairy cattle
breeding system through a systemic approach. The project started on January 22, 2016 and
ended on May 11 of that year, being developed from the perspective of the systemic approach.
In order to carry out data and information collection, which helped to answer the guiding problem
of the project, some DRP (Participatory Rural Diagnosis) techniques were used: transversal
traverse / crossing, seasonal calendar and zootechnical calendar to identify breeding
management. All of these procedures and the other information collected were recorded in
the field journal. The breeding system studied was characterized as a conventional breeding
system because there is a certain dependence on external inputs for disease control and crop
production.
