Solidarity economic practices in groups of agroecological family farmers in Monte Carmelo-MG

The present article presents economic solidarity practices developed in the Social Control
Organization of the Agroecology Center of Cerrado Mineiro (OSNACEM) of the Federal University
of Uberlândia, Monte Carmelo. This OCS seeks to contribute to the maintenance of productive
and sustainable systems, valuing production and marketing scales, based on solidarity
economy and fair price projects, increasing income generation and diversified production, with
respect to the regional vocation of farmers and consumption history. In this context, the UFU’s
Agroecological Fair was implemented, the monitoring of farmers’ production costs and orientation
for access to public policies to encourage the agroecological production of family agriculture,
promoting the social and economic development of family farmers involved in the actions.
