Zoning to Manage: the permacultural zoning as a subsidy to management actions in agroecosystems

Abstract

This article aims to propose the permacultural zoning of agroecosystems occupied by the
Grupo de Estudos e Práticas em Permacultura (GEPPe), with the purpose of subsidizing the
management actions. Therefore, the mapping of the area and the delimitation of permaculture
zones. The research area comprises the agroecosystem occupied by the GEPPe. As a methodological
procedure, bibliographical research, field and cabinet work were carried out. Zoning
was based on the theoretical and practical conceptions of permaculture. The zones delimited,
according to the amount of energy they need, have become a useful tool to elaborate strategies
and techniques, uses and occupation of the area occupied by the group
