Abstract

The fungi of the genus Phytophothora are distributed in several areas and attack several crops
causing great economic damages, being a fungus inhabitant of the soil its greater predominance
are in the roots and a consequence of the disease by diverse parts of the plant. It is
understood that the conventional method of fungicide attacks nature, thus, it is sought for less
aggressive alternative means that allow the control of the pathogen. To perform this experiment
we used alcoholic extracts of green propolis, São João flower, red propolis, and cereal
alcohol. Four treatments were evaluated and compared with growth or inhibition of mycelial
growth with the control. At the end of the incubation period, he could observe that only the
green propolis extract differed from the control, the others showed the behavior before the final
colony diameter. It is concluded that the green propolis extract presented fungistatic action on
the fungus Phythophora sp.
