Abstract

The construction of prossumer networks are current strategies for encouraging the agroecological
transition and socioeconomic inclusion of family agriculture. Through the support of
extension projects in the years 2014, 2015 and 2016 the “Mãos à Horta” Network facilitated actions
for the empowerment of the participants within the principles of Agroecology and Solidary
Economy. The activities included during the projects that supported the construction, improvement
and expansion of the “Mãos à Horta” Network were carried out through a diagnosis with
rural communities of Rio Pomba, making possible the approach with different agents and social
actors, as well as partnerships with institutions of Municipal secretariats and associations
of rural producers. The links reached by the actions of the projects continue to bear fruit for
future proposals to encourage agroecological practices, as well as the autonomy of producers
and prosumers in the management and operation of the “Mãos à Horta “ Network.
