Abstract

The pepper is a vegetable of great socioeconomic importance in Brazil, being very demanding
with respect to the chemical and physical characteristics of the soil, responding well to organic
fertilization. The bovine manure is the source most used by the olericultores of the region,
and should be used especially in soils poor in organic matter. The objective of this work was
to evaluate the use of bovine manure in weight, number of fruits and the yield of sweet pepper
in Glória de Dourados-MS under increasing doses of bovine manure in an organic production
system. Five dosages 0, 10, 20, 30, 40 t ha-1 were evaluated. Cattle manure promoted linear
increases in productivity. At the dose of 40,000 kg ha-1 the yield was 23,472 kg ha-1. The use
of bovine manure was shown to be promising for the increase in pepper yield.
