The objective of this research was to evaluate the efficiency of SACs grown with gingerlilyin
comparison to a control SAC (without cultivation) in the treatment of wastewater swine. The
SACs were submitted to an organic loading rate of 100 kg ha-1d-1, based on the mean value
of the Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) of the swine wastewater. In order to evaluate the
efficiency of the systems, BOD, Total Solids (ST), Suspended Solids (SS), Turbidity (T), and
Total Nitrogen analyzes were performed in the effluent and effluent to the SAC’s every 15 days
during Systems. The average efficiency in the removal of the variables was calculatedfrom the
influent and effluent concentrations and flows. The gingerlilyin SACs did not present statistical
differences (p <0.05) in relation to the witness in the efficiency of removal of the evaluated
attributes.
