Abstract

Basic sanitation is one of the greatest deficiencies in Brazilian rural areas in their different
dimensions. This work was developed in the Demonstration Unit in Renewable Energies, Sanitation
and Technologies of Coexistence with the Semiarid of Agroecological base, aiming to
evaluate the performance of the organic load removal in the sewage treatment plant with reactor
UASB of the UNIVASF Agricultural Sciences Campus. This work aims at the reuse of the
liquid and solid residue generated after treatment, as well as verify if the parameters defined
are in accordance with CONAMA Resolution 430 / 2011. The parameters were investigated:
pH, electrical conductivity, turbidity, temperature and biochemical demand Of oxygen. The preliminary
results indicated a removal of organic load higher than 60% and the other parameters
were in accordance with the legislation.
